Quick start: your first image

Flowgen runs on your own provider account, so the one step everybody gets stuck on is the key. Do that first and the rest takes a minute.

Install and open

Download the build for your machine from the download page. On a Mac it is signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens on the first try. On Windows the build is not signed yet, so SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway. It is a warning, not a refusal.

Connect a key

Flowgen sells the tool, not the generation. You bring a provider key and pay that provider directly at their published rates, with nothing added. That is why there is no credit balance to buy and no subscription for generation.

  1. Make a key. Open fal.ai/dashboard/keys and create one. fal is the widest catalogue and the usual starting point, though Kinovi, Higgsfield and Google all work the same way.
  2. Paste it into Flowgen. Open Settings, then Providers, and paste the key. It is encrypted on your machine and never written into an export.
  3. Generate something. Drag an Image node onto the canvas, type what you want, and press Run. The node shows the price before you press anything.

A single image on the default model costs a few cents. Flowgen shows the estimate on the node, so nothing is a surprise.

If a run fails

If none of those fit, write to [email protected] with what you were trying to make. A failing run is the most useful thing you can send.

What a run costs you

The free tier includes every node and every template, five saved workflows and a hundred runs a month, with no account. A run means one node that generated something: Chat and Last Frame do not count. Model charges are separate and go to the provider, never to Flowgen.
