Should I use Flowgen or ComfyUI?

Pick ComfyUI if you have a GPU, you want open weights and LoRAs, you enjoy the tinkering, or you need the price to be zero. Pick Flowgen if you are producing client or campaign work on the frontier models, you want the bill to come from the provider rather than a reseller, and you would rather not maintain a Python install to get there. Use both which is common. ComfyUI for the open-weight experiments, Flowgen for the deliverable that has to go out on brand this week.

What does ComfyUI do better than Flowgen?

It is free and it is open source. If the budget is zero, that is the end of the argument. It runs open-weight models on your own GPU, so a thousand drafts cost nothing but electricity. LoRAs, ControlNet, inpainting models and fine-tunes all work. Flowgen has none of that. The custom node ecosystem is enormous, and someone has usually already built the odd thing you need. You can read the source and change it. Flowgen is proprietary and you cannot.
